Economy of Namangan region increases by 12.5% in Jan-Sep
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross regional product of Namangan region of Uzbekistan rose by 12.5% in nine months of 2010.

Industrial output of the region rose by 16.4% in the reporting period, while the volume of construction works grew by 23.7%. The region’s exports increased by 45.4% and investments – by 6.6%. Production of consumer goods in Namangan region rose by 9.7%, retail trade turnover – 17.4% and paid services – 12%.

During the reporting period, some 57,600 new jobs were created in Namangan region due to gradual development of all industries of economy.

In nine months of 2010, the commercial banks issued loans for 144.9 billion soums in the region, which is up 1.2 times year-on-year.

Investments directed to real sector of economy due to all sources grew by 6% year-on-year. The volume of foreign investments increased by 2.2 times.

Some 42 enterprises were modernized in Namangan region in the reporting period and used 18.2 billion soums. At the same time, 35 enterprises were re-equipped in the reporting period. This helped to open 1,669 new jobs.
