The second main export item of Uzbekistan was cotton-fober, which has share of 10.1% in total exports of Uzbekistan in January-June 2010 (10.7% in the first half of 2009).
Services claimed the third place with the share of 9.5% in January-June 2010 against 9.3% in the same period of 2009, the committee said.
Share of food products in exports of Uzbekistan made up 6.5%, of which were consumer goods – 5.9%. Share of chemical products in exports was 4.7%, ferrous and non-ferrous metals – 6.9% and machinery and equipment – 4.6%.
The main import items of Uzbekistan were machines and equipment, which accounted 45.6% of imports (57.1%) in the reporting period.
Uzbekistan imported chemical products and plastics (14.8% in total imports), food products (11%), ferrous and non-ferrous metals (7.9%) and service (5.2%), as well as energy and oil products (3.3%).
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$9.825 billion in January-June 2010 (-0.8% year-on-year). At the same time, Uzbekistan’s exports made up US$6.185 billion and imports – US$3.639 billion.
