Uzbek leader signs law “On judicial expertise”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a law “On judicial expertise” and a law “On additional changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with the adaptation of the law “On judicial expertise” on 1 June 2010.

The law “On judicial expertise” was passed by the Legislative Chamber on 18 November 2009 and approved by the Senate on 7 May 2010.

The law directed at regulating principle issues, related to the institute of the forensic expertise. The law is single normative-legal act, which contains main general principles, regulating judicial-expertise activity independently from type of legal procedure type, norms ensuring independence of judicial experts, etc. The document contains 33 articles.

In line with the law, state judicial expert, employee of other organizations or individuals can act as judicial expert. Judicial expert should have higher education and only in exceptional cases – secondary special and professional education.

Judicial experts can participate in researches only in those issues, which are related to subject of entrusted to them and having importance.

Material evidences, examples for researches, other material objects, bodies and their parts, documents, case materials and others can be object of research.

The second law introduces and changes to Criminal procedure code, Administrative Responsibility Code, Civil procedural code and Economic procedural code of Uzbekistan.
