Population of Uzbekistan exceeds 37.6 million
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 April 2025, the permanent population of the Republic of Uzbekistan reached 37,697.8 thousand people, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Compared to previous periods, the population growth remains stable, confirming Uzbekistan's status as one of the most densely populated countries in Central Asia.
The distribution of the population by age categories shows a predominance of individuals of working age. The number of people under working age stands at 12,116.3 thousand, which represents 32.1% of the total population.
The working-age population numbers 21,112.5 thousand, or 56.0%. People over working age total 4,469.0 thousand, or 11.9%.
