Polish Investment and Trade Agency to Open Office in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) is set to open a representative office in Uzbekistan, according to the information agency “Dunyo.”

The agency emphasized that Uzbekistan is currently demonstrating confident economic growth and actively attracting foreign investment — factors that present significant opportunities for Polish businesses. “Uzbek authorities and the business community have shown genuine interest in strengthening cooperation with Polish companies,” said PAIH representative Jacek Michalski, as quoted by Polish news portal wnp.pl.

Speaking at the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum, Michalski announced that the agency’s office in the Uzbek capital will begin operating soon. Its mission will be to assist Polish entrepreneurs in establishing strong and lasting partnerships with local companies.

According to the Polish side, Uzbekistan boasts a rich resource base that is particularly valuable for the development of high-tech industries. The country holds substantial reserves of strategically important minerals — including tungsten, molybdenum, magnesium, lithium, vanadium, graphite, and titanium — with the total value of these resources estimated at around $3 trillion.

Uzbekistan's mining industry is also experiencing dynamic growth, encompassing not only metals but also natural gas and phosphate-based fertilizers. Polish manufacturers of mining equipment have already established a presence in the Uzbek market as providers of reliable and efficient machinery.

Additionally, Uzbekistan has shown steady interest in cogeneration technologies, which allow for the simultaneous production of electricity and thermal energy.

The potential of Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector further enhances its attractiveness to Polish companies specializing in drip irrigation technologies — a solution increasingly adopted in the country’s farming practices.
