Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On amendments to certain acts of legislation in connection with the adoption of a new version of the Labor Code" has been developed.

The new edition of the Labor Code singled out a separate category of persons - homeworkers.

Home-based work is work carried out by an individual (homeworker) in the production of goods or the provision of services on the orders of the employer in accordance with the employment contract concluded at the place of his residence or in other premises owned by the homeworker or members of his family, or rented by him.

The draft government decree envisages providing homeworkers who carry out activities with the execution of an employment contract with the status of employed. In addition to the employment contract, it is also planned to allow homeworkers to conclude civil law contracts (performance of work, production of goods or provision of services, in a row).

Discussion of the draft resolution will last until 19 January 2023.

New version of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan will come into force on 30 April 2023.
