The committee underlined that number of permanent population of Uzbekistan increased by 1.7% year-on-year.

Number of able-bodied citizens grew by 2.4% year-on-year to 17.157 million in 2010, the committee said.

Number of employed population in Uzbekistan reached 11.628 million in 2010, or grew by 2.7% compared to 2009, the committee underlined.

The committee stated that some 16,200 persons were registered as those, who are searching for a job. The figure decreased by 19.5% year-on-year.

In 2010, Uzbekistan created 953,700 jobs, which is 1.4% up year-on-year. Some 576,500 jobs were founded in rural areas, which is 17.4% more year-on-year.
