Khalq Bank (People’s Bank) issued over 90,000 plastic cards as of the end of the first half of the 2007. The bank said it issued 40,000 plastic cards as a part of salary projects.

To simplify the use of plastic cards, the bank has installed 1,100 terminals, including 227 – at the bank’s own branches and offices, and 872 – at the retail trade points, public catering and municipal service places.

The total volume of plastic card transactions for the reporting period exceeded 6.7 billion soums, including non-cash payments of over 2.8 billion soums made through the trade terminals.

To further expand plastic card operations and provide additional conveniences to the clients, the bank has integrated an "Overdraft" consumer credit widely used in all branches of the bank.
