Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A traffic accident in Tashkent’s Chilanzar district resulted in the death of a pedestrian, as reported by the press service of the capital’s Traffic Safety Department.

The accident occurred on September 8 around 11:00 PM on Bunedkor Avenue. According to available information, a 27-year-old driver, J.Kh., operating a Chevrolet Cobalt, struck a 41-year-old pedestrian.

As a result of the accident, the pedestrian died at the scene from the injuries sustained.

A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of article 266 (violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles) of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is ongoing.
