Representatives of the faction of PDPU at Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, heads of regional organizations of the party and others participated in the plenum.
The plenum discussed preparation of the party in elections in 2014. Chairperson of the Central Council of the PDPU Hatamjon Ketmonov delivered a report on this issue.
The Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan announced about start of election campaign from 15 September. From this day, the political parties started preparation to elections, which was considered at the plenum of the PDPU.
At the plenum, the participants considered reforms in Uzbekistan in recent years and importance of improving legal knowledge of population, informing population on election process.
It was noted that PDPU goes to election with over 392,000 members. It was noted that about 120,000 members or 33% are youth. It was said that initiative and active people are heading the party organizations.
The party said that the PDPU determined that its main task is to participate actively in realization of reforms and forming civil society, ensuring social-economic development of Uzbekistan.
The party said that it should actively participate in solving existing social problems via developing and implementing programmes for social-economic development of the regions. It was said that the party should further improve its party pre-election documents before start of agitation.
PDPU adopted decision to participate in the election campaign to Oliy Majlis and local representative bodies.
The party adopted decision to call the 8th session of the PDPU, which will nominate candidates to the post of MPs at the Legislative Chamber and approve pre-election platform of the party.
