Payment operators have temporarily suspended some services

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 November, some services of Payme, Apelsin and Click payment operators have been temporarily closed in Uzbekistan due to technical work on the fiscalization of all payments.

As Payme notes, local payment services, payment via a QR code, payment in Telegram channels will be temporarily unavailable.

“Currently, a large-scale work is being carried out in the Republic to improve the procedure for settlements in the field of retail trade and the provision of services, namely, the fiscalization of all payments,” Payme notes.

From 1 November, 2022, the scheme of interaction between online cash registers, payment organizations and the operator of fiscal data, approved by the State Tax Committee, comes into effect, and any deviation from the approved scheme of interaction entails the application of sanctions by the tax authorities.

“In connection with these circumstances, our team urgently needs to carry out technical work and temporarily disable the following services: payments on the spot, payment via QR code, payment in Telegram channels, Payme GO and some other services,” Payme notes.

“In connection with the ongoing work on large-scale integration between the payment service, the OFD (Fiscal Data Operator) system of the State Tax Committee and online cash registers, some suppliers, local payments, QR code payments and other types of payments are temporarily unavailable from 1 November 2022. The Apelsin team is making every effort to resume services. We hope for your understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience caused,” Apelsin said in a statement.

According to the State Tax Committee, 25 out of 48 payment operators have completed work on integration into the system of the committee’s fiscal data operator.

The Tax Committee notes that currently most payments for purchases are P2P (card-to-card).

“In the context of large-scale reforms, for the long-term development of the country’s economy, coordinated activities of consumers, business entities and state tax authorities with the help of information technologies are of particular importance,” emphasizes the State Tax Committee.

“Citizens, that is, you and I, should receive a check when making a purchase and a cashback in the amount of 1% of the amount of this purchase. This is our legal right! Therefore, when paying through a mobile application, the receipt must also be issued in this application. For an electronic check, cashback is credited automatically. We believe that the requirement for business entities to issue a check with a fiscal mark is a common occurrence and should be taken correctly,” the State Tax Committee said.
