Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government Resolution approved the Regulation on the procedure for reimbursing ("rebate") part of the costs of foreign film companies when creating their films in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to the Regulation, 20 percent of expenses (but not exceeding 300 thousand US dollars) of foreign film companies in the republic will be reimbursed from the state budget.

At the same time, a foreign film company receives permission from the Uzbekkino National Agency to shoot films in the republic and signs a Memorandum of Cooperation.

A foreign film company opens a special account in commercial banks of Uzbekistan for filming on the territory of the republic and will carry out its expenses through it.

After the expiry of the permit, the filming work is considered completed.

For reimbursement of expenses, the relevant documents are submitted to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry makes a decision within 10 days.

The agency is the responsible government body that coordinates the return of part of the costs to foreign film companies.

The list of foreign film companies that have been allocated funds from the State budget will be posted on the Agency's website.
