Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the second Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian States, a panel session was held on the topic "Further Strengthening the Activities of Inter-Parliamentary Commissions and Friendship Groups of Central Asian Countries in the Socio-Economic Development of the Region."

The session included members of parliaments from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

R. Alimov, Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Ties, Foreign Investments, and Tourism, served as the session’s moderator.

Participants were informed about the ongoing democratic and socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan. Additionally, reports were delivered by Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan J. Asanov, Kyrgyz Parliament Deputy Ch. Tolonov, Chairman of the Commission of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan on Regulations and Organization of Work D. Murtazozoda, and Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Turkmenistan Parliament G. Agayev.

The parliamentarians emphasized the importance of further expanding inter-parliamentary ties and friendship groups to strengthen long-standing connections, good neighborly relations, mutual trust, and cooperation among the Central Asian nations.

The session also highlighted the necessity of systematically establishing cooperation between parliamentary research, expert, and information-analytical services, and increasing the involvement of inter-parliamentary commissions, friendship groups, and committees in addressing regional issues.

Proposals were put forward to enhance the activities of inter-parliamentary commissions and friendship groups of Central Asian countries, aiming to elevate cooperation to a new level with corresponding measures outlined.
