Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Parliamentarians of Uzbekistan take part in the 10th World Water Forum, held in Indonesia under the slogan “Water for shared prosperity”. This was reported by the Senate press service.

It was noted that this international forum is held every three years. The forum will include several thematic and regional sessions, as well as side events and bilateral conversations.

Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on the development of the Aral Sea region and ecology B. Alikhanov made a report and informed the Forum participants about the state of water resources in the Central Asian region and the measures taken in Uzbekistan to solve water problems in the context of climate change.

During the forum, international experts, scientists, parliamentarians will discuss the issues of water resource distribution, water scarcity and ensuring access to safe drinking water and sanitation, financing and wise management of water resources for climate change resilience, transboundary water resources management, drought prevention and development of early warnings.

The International Water Forum will last until 26 May.
