Parliament discuss implementation of programme on creation of jobs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Committee of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on labour and social issues held a session to discuss implementation of the programme on creating new jobs and ensuring employment in nine months of 2012 and draft programme for 2013.

MPs of Legislative Chamber, representatives of Cabinet of Ministers, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Population, Ministry of Economy, State Statistics Committee, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Central Bank, NGOs and others participated at the event.

It was said that some 773,000 new jobs were created in January-September, which is 28,500 jobs more compared to planed number. At the same time 486,100 new jobs or 62.9% of total number were created in rural areas.

In the result of launch of new capacities and expansion of existing ones, some 45,600 new jobs were created. Main part of them fell to share of Ferghana, Tashkent, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Navoi regions and Tashkent city.

Commercial banks issued 4.2 trillion soums to small businesses, which also contributed to creation of new jobs. The volume of issued loans and microloans grew by 1.3 times year-on-year.

It is expected that Uzbekistan plans to create 972,600 new jobs in 2013. Half of them will be created to development of small businesses and microfirms, individuals entrepreneurship and services, reconstruction and repair of houses, etc.

The committee adopted decision on the considered issues.
