Sherzodbek Karimov started his football career at Shayhontohur. Later he joint Kyzylkum. Pakhtakor Tashkent signed him in 2008. He played 94 matches for Pakhtakor and scored 14 matches. He also played for Uzbekistan youth and senior teams.

Sporting director of Pakhtakor Grigoriy Tseytlin said that the club focuses on development of young players and once foreign club express interest in player, Pakhtakor does not hinder to transfer.
