Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Over the past 9 months, due to illegal connection to electric networks, the energy system of Uzbekistan suffered damage in the amount of 26.1 billion soums.

The largest number of cases of illegal use was detected in Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Jizzakh and Ferghana regions. 

During the activities carried out in agreement with the "Uzenergoinspektsiya" and authorized bodies, the damage was recalculated in the amount of 87.1 billion soums caused by 440 consumers who illegally used electricity and heat.

During the checks, the work of a total of 3,608 electrical appliances that were illegally connected to the network and were in poor technical condition, as well as 35 teams that did not comply with safety regulations, was stopped.
