Over 8m people use internet in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Currently 8 million people in Uzbekistan actively use internet, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on 19 January 2012.
Islam Karimov said that communication and informatization sector rose by 41.6%, which is positive trend and meets current requirements.
He said that the growth was achieved due to growth of number of internet and mobile communication users, as well as decrease of prices for Internet in 2011 by 22%.
