The central roads of Almalyk were decorated with huge banners “We are against breast cancer”. The marathon is organized by Fund Forum, “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association and Women’s Council. The winners received gifts and prizes.

The marathon was also attended by women with breast cancer. The funds raised from marathon will go toward addressing acute problems in fighting breast cancer, organizing free diagnostics campaigns for women across Uzbekistan and purchasing medications needed to treat the disease.

The bulk of these funds are donations from individuals and organizations, with Gulnara Karimova being credited with kick-starting the charitable initiative.
