Around 6,500 servicemen will take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s anti-terror exercise Peace Mission-2007, Vladimir Moltensky, the first deputy commander of the Russian army, told a news conference on Tuesday.
Russia engages 2,000 servicemen and 36 aircraft, he said. Another 2,700 servicemen will be responsible for maintenance and supply, Itar-Tass reported.
China will be represented by 1,700 servicemen and 46 aircraft.
Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will bring assault landing troops.
