Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 July, within the framework of the 1st CIS Annual Tourism Fair in Samarkand, more than 54 agreements on partnership and further cooperation in tourism between various organizations from CIS countries were signed.
The first Annual CIS Tourism Fair was held on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 9-10 July in the city of Samakand. Among the signed documents were the Agreements on Partnership and Further Cooperation in the Sphere of Tourism between the Association of Private Tourist Organizations of Uzbekistan, the Armenian Tourism Federation and the Belarusian Republican Union, the Association of Hotel Owners of Uzbekistan and the Association of Resorts of Kyrgyzstan, as well as many other tourist organizations of the CIS countries.
Also, as part of the event, an International Scientific and Practical Seminar on the theme: “Tourism in the CIS countries and regional cooperation: new challenges and opportunities” was held, which brought together rectors and vice-rectors of leading universities in the tourist destinations of the CIS countries.
One of the main issues on the agenda of the seminar was the proposal to implement the project of the network university “Silk Road” and the exchange of students in leading universities of the CIS countries, which was supported by the participants of the seminar.
As a result of the event, Cooperation Agreements between the International University of Tourism “Silk Road” and various specialized universities from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Armenia, Belarus and Turkmenistan were signed.
