The greatest number of enterprises and institutions was registered in trade and catering (27.2% of total registered enterprises), agriculture (19.7%, excluding private farms), industry (12.5%) and construction (8%).
In the total number of registered enterprises the share of enterprises with non-state form of ownership was 92.2% of which 51.3% - private and dekhkan farms, 21.6% - private enterprises, 0.9% - enterprises with participation of foreign capital, 0.4% - joint-stock companies, 18% – other enterprises.
The number of newly registered enterprises and institutions was 34,500 in January-September 2010. Their significant number of new enterprises was launched in Tashkent city (16.5% of total registered enterprises in Uzbekistan), Ferghana region (9.9%), Kashkadarya region (8.5%), Tashkent region (8.3%) and Samarkand region (7.6%).
In the sectoral structure of newly created enterprises, about 28.2% fell to share of trade and catering, 22% - agriculture and 17.1% - industry.
In the reporting period, some 27,700 enterprises and institutions were liquidated. Out of them more than 3,000 were liquidated voluntarily.
According to the State Statistics Committee, about 55,9% of total liquidated enterprises fell to share of agriculture, 19,4% – trade and catering, and 8,1% – industry.
