Over 3,600 Uzbek people to make Umrah pilgrimage

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Over 3,600 Muslims from Uzbekistan will make Umrah pilgrimage from 14 March to 2 May 2011, the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan said.

The committee said that Uzbekistan Havo Yollari national airline will conduct 17 flights to deliver pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

Pilgrims from Uzbekistan will be placed to Ajnihat al-Majidi Hotel in Medina and al-Baraka mavadda in Mecca. The committee said that hotels are located near main pilgrimage sights.

The committee said that 18 doctors and two cooks are accompanying pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

The Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, performed by Muslims that can be undertaken at any time of the year.
