Over 153,000 Passenger Cars Produced in Uzbekistan in January–May 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to May 2025, more than 153,840 passenger cars were produced in Uzbekistan, marking a 4.96% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.
The majority of total output continues to be accounted for by UzAuto Motors. During the reporting period, the company produced 58,904 Cobalt vehicles — a 2.4% rise compared to January–May 2024.
Production of the Damas model increased significantly by 24.1%, totaling 38,753 units. Meanwhile, output of the Tracker declined to 18,079 units, a decrease of 6.2%. A total of 16,215 Onix cars were assembled, representing an 8.8% year-on-year increase.
In the segment of foreign brand assembly, the following figures were recorded: 3,362 Chery vehicles were produced (down 15.9%), 10,076 KIA vehicles (up 35.6%), and 2,930 Haval vehicles — a 12.7-fold increase compared to the same period last year. Production of BYD cars reached 5,495 units.
Notably, the output of specialized passenger vehicles grew sharply — 17,397 units were produced since the beginning of the year, reflecting a 74% increase over the same period in 2024.
