The exhibition “Henry Moore: The Printmaker” is organized by the British Council in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Academy of Arts and the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan.
British Ambassador Mr George Edgar said that the exhibition is the first British Council project in art sphere in Uzbekistan for a long time. He said that British Council plans to realize several projects in art sphere in Uzbekistan.
George Edgar noted that cultural relations are important as political and trade-economic relations.
Head of British Council in Uzbekistan Mark Crossey said that educational events to support gifted youth were organized within the exhibition.
Lectures and master-classes with participation of British experts were organized within the exhibition. About 450 art specialists, 26 young painters and 24 graphic teachers attended them.
Students and teachers of art schools created about 40 lithographic works within the master classes, which were presented as separate exhibition.
These master-classes were filmed for education purposes and will now be incorporated by four Institutes of Arts into their printmaking programme.
Mark Crossey added that British Council is planning to continue work on organization of art projects in Uzbekistan. He said that British theatre Globe will present a play Hamlet in November 2015. The project will also include educational events.
