Over 10,000 tourists from India visited Uzbekistan in two months
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first two months of 2025, Uzbekistan welcomed 10,300 visitors from India, marking a 47.4% increase compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
More than half of the Indian visitors—5,310 people—came to the country for tourism purposes. Business travel also accounted for a significant share, with 3,065 people arriving on official visits and 5 for commercial purposes.
Additionally, 1,864 individuals traveled to Uzbekistan for educational purposes, while 80 people visited relatives, and two arrived for medical treatment.
Compared to January-February 2024, the number of tourists from India increased by 3,300 people, reflecting Uzbekistan's growing appeal to Indian travelers. Experts attribute this rise to visa facilitation measures, improved air connectivity, and active promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential at international exhibitions.
