Over 1,000 ATMs to be installed in Uzbekistan in 2018

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to install 1,045 ATMs to service international banking cards by the end of 2018, Director of the Department of Currency Regulation and Balance of Payments of the Central Bank Bobir Abubakirov said.

He underlined that customers will be able to withdraw money in foreign currency and in soums. ATMs will work around the clock, Abubakirov added.

In March 2018, more ATMs will be installed in places visited by tourists, as well as in the streets, markets and shopping centers.

Soon the terminals will be integrated with Visa, Mastercard and other systems for accepting cards of international systems.

He added that six banks in Uzbekistan began accepting payments with use of UnionPay cards through their terminals.
