OSCE Centre supports training course to prevent human trafficking in Turkmenistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An OSCE-supported training course on how to prevent human trafficking and promote safe migration, started in Ashgabat on 27 April.

The course is for 33 volunteers and staff from the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCST) and other civil society organizations representing Turkmenistan’s five regions to teach others about preventing human trafficking.

Two experts from Ukrainian anti-trafficking NGOs are delivering the three-day course, co-organized by the NRCST and the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat.

The agenda includes the legislative framework for combating human trafficking and effective ways to deliver information on human trafficking for different audiences. In addition, the training course features case studies on good practices in identification of possible trafficked victims as well as in effective implementation of mechanisms for referral of trafficking victims.

This is part of an OSCE project which includes public awareness-raising sessions on human trafficking and the importance of safe migration. The project also facilitates sharing of information related to human trafficking with regional and local governmental representatives as well as with employees of tourist agencies.
