Orient Finans receives license to conduct operations with hard currency
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Orient Finans private closed joint stock commercial bank received a general license for holding operation in hard currency on 25 December 2010, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said on 28 December 2010.

The Board of Central Bank of Uzbekistan adopted a corresponding resolution. The document was adopted in line with the decree of the Uzbek President “On measures on stimulating creation of private commercial banks” and the rules of issuing licenses to commercial banks to conduct operations in hard currency.

As earlier reported, Central Bank of Uzbekistan registered Orient Finans in June 2010 and issued a corresponding license.

The announced charter capital of the bank makes up 11.48 billion soums, of which 80% belongs to individuals. The bank registered the first emission of shares for 11.48 billion soums in late November 2010.

Priority directions of Orient Finans activities are to assist to deepen social-economic reforms, finance small and private business, as well as stimulate new class of owners in Uzbekistan.
