Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On amendments and additions to certain acts of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the harmonization of the national legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the agreements of the World Trade Organization" was adopted.

Changes made to:

Regulations on the provision of legal consulting services by commercial organizations, approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers from 17 August 2018 No. 675;

Charter of the Research Institute for Standardization, Certification and Technical Regulation under the Agency "Uzstandard", approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers from 14 March 2019 No. 220.

From 1 January 2024, legal consultants, after their organization is included in the register, can advise not only on the legislation of a foreign state, but also on international law.

Also, from 1 January 2025, the Research Institute for Standardization, Certification and Technical Regulation under the Uzstandard Agency, when developing, approving and applying standards, must ensure compliance with the requirements of the Code of Voluntary Practice of the WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade.

Earlier, the Ministry of Justice was entrusted with the function of harmonizing national legislation with the WTO agreements.
