Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Up to 20 thousand teachers from 10 thousand schools in Uzbekistan will be able to access the Oracle Academy program.
Within three years, up to 300 computer science teachers will be able to upgrade their qualifications to become Oracle Academy Certified Teachers.
In October-November 2020, 54 teachers from 30 schools took the Java Programming Basics training course.
The Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Oracle Corporation signed a partnership agreement for the implementation of the Oracle Academy program in Uzbekistan. As part of this agreement, Oracle intends to provide professional development training for 300 teachers over the next three years through two trainings for 100 teachers per year.
The key goal of the collaboration is to expand access to IT education by making Oracle Academy materials available to 20,000 teachers from 10,000 schools in Uzbekistan. Thus, all schools and teachers in the country interested in Oracle Academy content will be able to take advantage of the announced program.
Oracle Academy successfully completed Phase 1 of the agreement by delivering Java Programming Fundamentals training to 54 teachers in 30 schools in October and November 2020. Participants who successfully passed the final exam received certificates of completion of the Java Programming Basics course and the right to teach it in their schools.
Through Oracle Academy, teachers will have access to the following seminars and courses:
The basics of working in Java in the Alice environment;
Working in Java with Greenfoot;
SQL basics;
Java Fundamentals (Java Fundamentals and Java Foundations);
Fundamentals of Java Programming;
Artificial Intelligence with Machine Learning in Java;
Database Basics;
Design and programming of databases in the SQL language;
Database programming in PL / SQL;
Oracle Application Express (APEX) Development Fundamentals.
Courses have varying levels of difficulty and target audiences. Workshops based on Alice and Greenfoot are designed to teach elementary school students to introduce them to programming concepts in an easy-to-use environment.
The complementary curriculum for computer science teachers covers Java and database fundamentals and offers them the knowledge to teach through Oracle Academy's free online resources, available anytime and in any classroom. Students will also gain the opportunity to take the Oracle Industry Certification exam by completing Oracle Academy courses:
- Oracle Foundations Associate, Java;
- Oracle Foundations Associate, Database.
