Opportunities for creation of new jobs discussed in Navoi
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan and Central Council of People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (NDPU) organized economic forum and job fair “Opportunities for creation of new jobs through expanding microfinance services” in Navoi.

The forum was attended by heads of the Main department of Central Bank in Navoi region, branches of commercial banks, and representatives of the Central Council of NDPU, city and district administrations, MPs of local Councils, over 300 businesses and others.

The forum participants got acquainted with meaning and content of priority directions of the Concept for further deepening democratic reforms and developing civil society, vowed by the Uzbek President Islam Karimov at the joint session of the Legislative Chamber and Senate of Oliy Majlis of 12 November 2010. The participants also familiarized with measures on developing microfinancing and implementing tasks for further deepening democratic reforms and liberalizing economy.

During the forum, representatives of family businesses, out-work and craftsmanship organized a fair and presented their products and services.

Another similar event was also organized in cooperation with Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan in the remote district of Navoi region – Tamdi.

During the event, the participants familiarized with importance of legislation in developing small business and private entrepreneurs, as well as tasks of the commercial banks for 2011 on supporting small and private businesses.

It was said that the country is creating environment for forming middle class, which is social-economic support of the society, in the result of the market reforms in small and private businesses. It was stated that share of small business in economy of the region is increasing.

The microfinancing market is developing to support small and individual entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan. The participants received information on microfinancing services of the commercial banks, ways of crediting, offered preferences, etc.

At the end of the event, 85 businesses and college graduates received certificates, which allow them to receive preferential loans. The commercial banks also handed over certificates to 30 businesses, who proposed perspective projects in family business, outwork and craftsmanship.
