Opera art of Uzbekistan presented in Austria
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An opera art of Uzbekistan was presented in Vienna, Austria, within the cultural project “Music along Great Silk Road”.

Within the event, Austrian opera singer Kati Potego presented an aria “Oyhon” of Uzbek opera “Tricks of Maysara”, Jahon agency reported.

Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna Richard Trampl said that the main objective of this project was to introduce the Austrian public with a rich and diverse cultural heritage of peoples and countries through which the Great Silk Road.

He said historic route is impossible to imagine without Uzbekistan, and the product was announced today from the treasury of the Uzbek opera is another confirmation of the country’s enormous contribution to the development of world culture.

Kati Potego said that she know that Uzbekistan is famous for people’s music and art. During the preparation, she said she had chance to familiarize with the works of the Uzbek composers much closer and she was impressed with them.

Uzbekistan is located at the crossroads of the Silk Road, the event moderator Doris Dornetshuber said. For centuries, the country remains a center of science, art and culture that make a large contribution to world civilization. Holding of this event will serve for further rapprochement of the peoples of Europe and Asia.

The event also presented information on tourism potential of Uzbekistan, historic and cultural sights, etc.
