The main idea of organizing of such kind of events in our country is: acquainted the population of the country, especially the young generation, with rich heritage of the past and present of the Uzbek culture, fashion and art, as well as introduce them masterpieces of world culture. This is peculiar dialogue among different cultures, which help them to enrich their own experience and improve the skills for creation of new original pieces of art.
The Opening of the Week was held in the Palace of Youth Creativity in Tashkent. The whole ceremony was grandiose, and the level of arrangement and scale of every single moment of the event, was quantity larger than the previous ceremonies, which were held in the past years. The ceremony began with the solemn march of elegantly dressed young ladies - drummers, whose drumming virtuosity combined with the sounds of doira (Uzbek traditional musical instrument) in the hands of skilled young performers, who were dressed in elegant traditional Uzbek clothing.
Simultaneously, the opening of the Style.uz Week was held with the opening of the Photebiennale - TashkentAle 2012. Welcoming speeches were delivered by special guests of the Week, including, famous fashion photographer Paolo Roversi, film director Nick Powell (who has conquered the audience with his greeting in the Uzbek language without an accent: "Assalom Alleykum", and, of course, Gulnara Karimova - The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fund Forum.
This year, the organizers of the Week little changed the rules of the opening ceremony, and instead of cutting the red ribbon, the guests pressed a symbolic red button - that meant that the Week of Fashion and Arts has officially begun!
During the opening of the TashkentAle, for the audience were presented the works of Paolo Roversi – the photo portraits of famous models, with whom he worked in past. The author very skillfully conveyed the outer beauty of women, and her internal charm, which has been emitted in each picture.
In addition, there were shown the photographs, which present historical value for our country. So, there were portrayed many historical moments occurred in Uzbekistan, in the early twentieth century. It was hard to walk past the pictures, which were demonstrating the bright fragments of history of the Uzbek people. High interest of the public was arouse around the images of women – protesters, who were fighting for their rights, in particular, the ones who were refusing to wear paranja (Islamic veil).
Also, there were very impressive photographs of Alikhan - portraits of oriental women, dressed in old national costumes, with rich textures and colors, which were combined with original ornaments and decorations, which are peculiar for Central Asia region. The highlight those works is a visual effect, - from different angles, the ones sees the same woman, who chances her appearance from young to old.
Extraordinarily beautiful Opening ceremony, original works, presented on the first day of the Fashion and Art Week, leave us in anticipation of the following activities, which will be organized within the framework of the Style.uz during coming week.
