Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The operation of trolleybuses between Urgench and Khiva has been temporarily suspended. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.

It’s worth noting that this is the only remaining trolleybus route in Uzbekistan.

The decision to suspend the operation was made on 20 November due to issues with electrical supply, maintenance of high-voltage networks, and transformers.

To temporarily replace the trolleybuses, eight buses of Yangariktrans and Avtotrans Khorezm have been deployed on the route.

The administration of Khorezm region has formed a working group to address the issues and restore trolleybus operations.
