Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 March, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the joint program of training on Public Expenditure Management (PEMPAL) of the World Bank held an online seminar on the topic "Development of internal audit in Uzbekistan and the experience of PEMPAL member countries."
The Program for International Cooperation in Public Financial Management (PEMPAL) plays a special role in the effective implementation of public finance reforms in the European Region and Central Asia.
PEMPAL is made up of three communities in the areas of budgeting, treasury and internal audit - who come together regularly to discuss issues that arise in these areas.
The seminar was attended by industry experts from the Ministry of Finance, international experts from the PEMPAL internal audit community, as well as employees of the internal audit service of ministries and departments.
The seminar was opened by Deputy Minister of Finance Akhadbek Khaydarov. In his speech, Akhadbek Khaydarov noted that internal audit services have been created in most ministries and departments, and the Ministry of Finance is developing regulations governing their activities.
Also at the seminar, presentations were made by employees of the Ministry of Finance on the topic “Development of the system of state internal audit in Uzbekistan” and employees of the Internal Audit Service of the Ministry of Public Education on the topic “Internal audit in the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
On the part of foreign practicing experts, the participants were presented with presentations on the activities of the internal audit community and risk assessment in practice, as well as on planning internal audit.
Based on the results of the planned presentations, problems arising in the field of state internal audit were discussed, proposals and comments on their elimination from the World Bank and foreign practitioners were given, and an agreement was reached to hold a seminar on further improving the system of state internal control.
