Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 January, a driver in Samarkand ignored a traffic inspector’s stop order and dragged him on the car hood, according to the regional traffic police press service.
The incident took place on Buyuk Ipak Yuli Street, where a law enforcement officer noticed a vehicle without license plates and signaled for it to stop. However, the driver refused to comply and hit the inspector, who was standing in front of the car.
The prosecutor’s office has initiated a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 140 ("Insult") and Article 219 ("Resistance to an Authority Representative or a Citizen Performing Civic Duties") of the Criminal Code.
The driver faces either restriction of freedom for three to five years or imprisonment for the same period.
An investigation is currently underway.
