Dr. Münci Kalayoğlu is the head of the organ transplantation and general surgery department at Istanbul’s Memorial Hospital.
Previously, he worked at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and founded the Liver Transplantation Program at the University of Wisconsin. A leading pediatric surgeon, Dr. Kalayoğlu has performed more than 1,500 liver transplants. According to the Memorial Hospital, success rate of kidney and liver transplantation at the Memorial Hospital is 99% and 93.5% respectively.
Münci Kalayoğlu said that it is honor for him to be among 20 the best children surgeons. He said that he has been working in Memorial Hospital in Istanbul and during this time, the hospital reached world standards. He said that “children are our future. It is invaluable to see smile of healthy children”.
