Oman Oil Company to invest into chemical industry of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzkimyosanoat state joint stock company will attract Omani investments to realize four projects in chemical industry of Uzbekistan.

Uzkimyosanoat signed a memorandum of strategic partnership with Oman Oil Company, which envisages realization of four projects for US$720 million in 2010-2014.

Oman Oil Company will participate in the project on construction of the second line of Dehkanabad potash fertilizers plant in Kashkadarya region. The project cost is US$250 million and the project capacity of the second line is 400,000 potash fertilizers a year.

The sides will also create joint venture on PVC production in Kashkadarya region with the capacity of 50,000 tonnes of PVC and 32,000 tonnes of hydrate of sodium a year. The preliminary project cost is US$200 million.

In Navoi region, Uzkimyosanoat and Oman Oil Company will organize production of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizer with the cost of US$180 million. The enterprise will produce 250,000 tonnes of fertilizers a year.

The capacities on production of dimethyl ether will be created on the base of FerghanaAzot OJSC with the cost of US$90 million. The plant will produce 100,000 tonnes of products.

The project is planned to finance due to foreign direct investments, foreign credits and loans of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, as well as own funds of interested companies from Uzbekistan.
