Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of deepening cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Sultanate of Oman in the field of civil aviation, negotiations were held between the relevant aviation authorities of the two countries.

The parties discussed prospects for establishing direct air communication, including the launch of regular flights by Oman Air to Uzbekistan, as well as issues related to updating existing agreements between the aviation authorities.

Following the negotiations, an updated agreement was signed granting airlines of both countries the right to operate up to 50 flights per week.

Additionally, the agreement provides for the application of an “open skies” regime at the international airports of Samarkand and Salalah. It also allows the use of the fifth, sixth, and seventh freedoms of the air for cargo transportation at airports in both countries.

It was also noted that the Uzbek side will provide comprehensive support for organizing direct flights of Oman Air to Uzbekistan during the current year.
