OGU exhibition and conference starts in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Sixteenth international exhibition and conference “Oil and Gas Uzbekistan – OGU 2012” will take place at UzExpoCenter in Tashkent on 15-17 May 2012.

The event has been held for the first time in 1997 and it became main oil and gas event of Uzbekistan. The exhibition and conference attracts global leaders in oil and gas sector and their participants consider development and implementation of large-scale projects.

OGU is organized by international exhibition company ITE Uzbekistan and its partner ITE Exhibitions & Conferences Ltd. (Great Britain), ITE Moscow (Russia), GIMA (Germany), ITE China and ITE Gulf (UAE).

OGU 2012 is held within the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Uzbekneftegaz and the 15th anniversary of launch of Bukhara refinery.

Exhibition will be placed in two pavilions of UzExpoCenter. The exhibition and conference OGU attracted 200 companies from 20 countries of the world, including from Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Egypt, Ireland, etc.

Director of OGU project Elena Popova said that meetings and talks will be held within the OGU. Uzbekneftegaz national holding company will take central place in the exhibition, which will demonstrate achievements of oil and gas sector in last 20 years. She said that 20% of participants represent Uzbekistan and 80% foreign countries. Germany, Italy, China, Russia will present their national stands.

Among participants are Lukoil, TMK, BAE, Frenzelit, Jumo, Kanex, Liebherr-Export AG, Samson AG, CGGVeritas, Sercel, etc.

The first day of the exhibition is announced as the Day of Lukoil and the company plans to hold several promo campaigns.

On 15 May, a roundtable “Impact of energy exports from Central Asia to perspectives of political-economic development of the region” will be held within the exhibition. The event is organized by the Center for Political Studies and Uzbekneftegaz.

Experts from European and Asian states will participate at the event to discuss current state of resource base and perspectives of energy exports from Central Asia, role of energy factor in complex of geopolitical processes in Central Asia.

On 16-17 May, international oil and gas conference titled “Modernization and technical re-equipment of oil and gas sector” will be held at InterContinental Hotel.

It is expected that over 500 delegates, representatives of oil and gas companies, will attend the event. During the event, it is planned to present development of hydrocarbon exports, their processing in Central Asia, development of industry, etc.
