Officials of Uzbek Foreign Ministry, US State Department hold talks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the delegation of the US State Department led by coordinator of the Nuclear Smuggling Outreach Initiative (NSOI) Michael Stafford on 12 May 2011.
The sides discussed separate aspects of the Uzbek-US agenda in context of continuation of interaction in combating spread of weapons of mass destruction, as well as nuclear securities.
The NSOI is a US government effort to enhance international partnerships to combat smuggling of nuclear and radioactive materials.
NSOI is coordinated by the Office of Weapons of Mass Destruction Terrorism in the State Department's Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation (ISN/WMDT).
