Russia’s Izvestiya reported that Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti considers Akhmedov as a replacement to veteran midfielder Konstantin Ziryanov. The sides held preliminary talks and Akhmedov can move to Saint Petersburg this winter. The sum of the deal will make up 10 million euros.
Anzhi loaned Akhmedov from Pakhtakor Tashkent in February 2011. After loan term ended, the Russian club decided to acquire him. In 2011, he was named the best player of Anzhi.
Current agreement of Odil Akhmedov with Anzhi was signed till summer of 2015.
