Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to reduce the number of vice-speakers of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis from 7 to 2.

The parliament of Uzbekistan plans to discuss a corresponding bill. The draft law proposes to amend 13 laws and 1 code affecting the activities of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis. The bill was developed in accordance with the new edition of the Constitution of Uzbekistan.

The document also proposes to prohibit vice-speakers from being members of a particular party. Deputy Speakers will be required to suspend their party membership while in office.

The head of the faction will be equal to the vice speaker in terms of financial support, medical and transport services.
