Number of Uzbek population reaches 29.994m persons
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of the resident population in Uzbekistan as of 1 January 2013, in line with the preliminary data, was 29.994 million persons and grew by 439,200 or 1.1%, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said.

The number of urban population made up 15.315 million and rural population – 14.679 million, or 51.1% and 48.9% respectively of the total number of population.

In January-December 2012, the birth rate was 21 pro mil and decreased by 0.2 pro mil in comparison with the corresponding period of 2011 (21.2 pro mil).

In the reporting period the death rate was 4.9 pro mil and remained at the same level as in comparison in 2011 (4.9 pro mil).

Out of the total number of the dead 61.7% died of cardiovascular diseases, 7.6% – neoplasms, 6.1% – respiratory diseases, 6.1% – accidents, poisonings and traumas, 5.8% – diseases of digestive organs.

According to the preliminary data, in January-December some 6,600 children died at the age under one year. Out of the total number of children died at the age under one year, 47.4% died of states occurring in perinatal period, 35% – respiratory diseases, 7.3% – congenital anomalies, and 4.5% – infectious and parasitic diseases.

In 2012, some 299,100 marriages and 17,900 divorces were registered. There were 10 marriages (in January-December 2011 – 9.8) and 0.6 divorces (in January-December 2011 – 0.6) per 1000 population.

According to the preliminary data, number of immigrants was 169,100 persons in January-December 2012 and emigrants – 208,800 persons.

In January-December 2012, balance of migration was minus 39,700 persons versus minus 47,500 persons in the corresponding period of 2011.
