Number of registered .UZ domains reach 9,000

Number of registered domains in national zone .UZ exceeded 9,000, increasing 1,400 domains or 18.6% compared to the beginning of 2009.
UZINFOCOM, administrator of national domain, 3.360 new domains were registered in January-September 2009 and deleted 1,950 domains in the reporting period.
In the early 2009, number of registered domains was 7,595 domains. In 2008, about 1,830 domains were registered, which made up 31.7% growth.
According to statistics, 61% of registered domains were registered by legal entities and 39% by individuals. About 80% or 7,230 domains were registered by residents of Uzbekistan.
