Number of public notary offices in Uzbekistan to increase by 220 in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of public notary offices in Uzbekistan will increase by 220 in 2010, the resolution of the Uzbekistan government said.

Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyayev inked a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures on implementation of the decree of the President of Uzbekistan from 5 May 2010 “On measures on further improvement of notary institute in Uzbekistan” on 2 June 2010.

In line with the document, currently 327 public notary offices operate in Uzbekistan. Largest number of notary offices work in Samarkand region (49) and Tashkent city (46).

The document said 55 notary offices will be created in Tashkent city, while new notary offices in Samarkand region will not created.

Number of public notary offices in Karakalpakstan will increase by ten to 34, Andijan region by 18 to 43. At the end of 2010, number of notary offices in Bukhara region will comprise 31 (+15), Jizzakh region – 23 (+8), Kashkadarya region – 29 (+12) and Navoi region – 21 (+9).

Some 18 notary offices will be created in Namangan and their number will reach 32. Surkhandarya region will increase its public notary offices’ number by 10 to 29. Number of notary offices in Syrdarya will grow by 24 (+7), in Ferghana region – 42 (+16), Khorezm region – 30 (+15) and Tashkent region – 59 (+27).

As earlier reported, Uzbekistan abolished institute of private practicing notaries from 15 May 2010. The decision was adopted due to serious violations by the private notary offices.
