Number of monopolists in Uzbekistan fall by 7

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of monopoly enterprises in Uzbekistan decreased by seven in nine months of 2009, the State Demonopolization Committee said.

Number of monopolists made up 218 in the reporting period compared to 226 in January-September 2008.

State Demonopolization Committee said the number of monopolists decreased thanks to stable growth of economy of the country, creation of favourable conditions for development of the competition and increasing number of private and small businesses.
