Number of internet users in Uzbekistan reaches 2.6m

Number of internet users in Uzbekistan reached 2.6 million as of 1 October 2009, the Board of the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information said. Number of internet users made up 93.5 users per 1,000 people.
As of 1 October 2009, the business entities rendering data transfer services, including Internet, made up 921. Number of collective internet points made up 963.
Number of registered .UZ domains comprised 9,200 in the reporting period.
