Beknazar Suyunov, senior scientific employee of IndexInfo, said that Uzbekistan leaves behind many industrially developed countries of the world on this figure. He added that due to fast growth of the market, Uzbekistan has all chances to become leader in Central Asia and compete in global market.

According to Suyunov, number of certified enterprises in Uzbekistan grew by 8 times from 57 to 456 firms. About 45% of certified enterprises fell to share of machinery, oil and gas, as well as food industries.

Suyunov underlined that 65% of enterprises introduced quality management system (QMS) in line with ISO 9011, 13% - OHSAS 18001 and 9% - ISO 14001. At the same time, 52% of enterprises, which introduced QMS, fell to share of Tashkent city and 15% to Tashkent region.

He said that market share of CERT Management made up 33%, SGC Tashkent – 11% and Russkiy Registr – 10%.

Suyunov stated that despite all positive trends in local ISO market, share of certified enterprises in total number of enterprises in Uzbekistan is low and makes up only 0.16%.

IndexInfo experts said that main reason for this is that the enterprises do not understand advantages of the system. According to survey of IndexInfo, 41% of polled heads of enterprises do not see advantage from introduction of ISO. Financial problems on introduction of ISO certificate are only fourth reason, why enterprises do not have ISO.

Beknazar Suyunov underlined that in line with UzStandard, number of certified companies will reach 606 by the end of 2011, 806 by 2012 and over 1,000 by 2013.

Umid Kamalov, representative of Uzstandard agency, stated that 585 enterprises of Uzbekistan introduced QMS as of 1 November 2011 and their number will reach 700 by the end of 2011.
